WHERE DID THEY GO?

THE FINAL POST

On March 3rd, 2023, Fanatics Football's Instagram account (@FanaticsFB) sent out their last message; thanking the ones who participated and announcing that it was ceasing operations for the foreseeable future.

For most people, this came as a shock being that Fanatics Football had its own gear, was sponsoring multiple events, and was on a trajectory to join some of the top tier adult football leagues that compete throughout the United States. It seemed that, overnight, they vanished.

Former players are all too familiar with the feeling of wanting to play again. We hear it a lot; “If I can just put on the pads one more time.”

Most people turn to a turkey bowl, a flag football game, or just getting heavily into whatever team that they root for. Others turn to coaching, working out, or competing in some form of competition.

All that is great, but it doesn’t quite compare to lining up across somebody and putting the screws of your helmet right through their chinstrap.

That was Fanatics Football.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Fanatics Football was self-sustaining; we had our first Turkey Bowl, our Christmas Classic, we partnered with the Alumni out of East Los Angeles / Boyle Heights to put on some football games – all that was great. However, being that Fanatics Football was created as an outlet, an opportunity, a way to “get on the field just one more time and re-live that moment that you’ve been craving since your last game”, we knew that we would have to pull a great deal of time and resources away from other operations in order to put out a high-level product and continuously re-create the feeling & experience.

We chose to put it to the side and, instead, turn our focus to keeping the sport alive.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

Today, Fanatics Football operates in a capacity that gives to the growth of football. We are proud to be able to provide to youth sport and other organizations through the provision of equipment and sponsorships. We believe that the way to keep the sport, that we love, alive is through positive contribution to its growth.

As stated in our last post, this is not a goodbye, but a see you later; and we look forward to being on the field with you, again.
